Ambassadors for Peace: October 2017
In October 2017, The Revd Nadim Nassar (Director) and Huda Nassar (Director for the Middle East) travelled to Lattakia, Syria for a brand-new development in our Ambassadors for Peace programme.
For the first time, two separate groups of Ambassadors would be working: a new group of 50 young people just beginning on their journey as Ambassadors (Stage 1), and 35 of our Ambassadors who were chosen by their peers at previous events to lead the project-management stage of the work (Stage 4).
Stage 1: New Ambassadors for Peace
It was such a joy to welcome 50 young people to our new Ambassadors for Peace programme, especially knowing the wonderful journey that awaits them. We were greatly helped by our friends Fr Amer Kassar from Damascus and Fr Michael Naaman from Homs.
Stage 4: Project Managers
After working with the new Ambassadors, we received the 35 young people who are our Ambassador 'project managers'. Over three days, they studied very diligently, brilliantly taught by Dr Pierre Filifli, a Public Financial Management trainer from Lebanon (pictured above left). This is the first in a series of events designed to train the Ambassadors fully so that they can implement their own peace-building projects which will benefit the wider community.
