Lord Gordon of Strathblane


The Awareness Foundation has just lost a very dear friend. Lord Gordon of Strathblane CBE, a much-loved supporter of the Awareness Foundation as well as one of our Patrons, died on 31st March 2020 after reportedly contracting coronavirus. He was 83. A broadcasting pioneer, Lord Gordon worked for STV as their political editor from 1965 to 1973, when he became managing director of the new Radio Clyde station.He remained in that post until 1996, and continued as chairman of Scottish Radio Holdings until 2005.

The Revd Nadim Nassar said, "With broken hearts, we have learned the sad news that our dear friend and Patron James Gordon has passed away. Jimmy was an enormous support and encouragement for us all. May the Lord accept him in his eternal light."

Huda Nassar said, "He was an amazing person. May he Rest In Peace and rise in glory."
