Donald is a consultant to parishes, foundations and endowment boards. He is a mentor to clergy and lay leaders in leading Episcopal congregations and has served as Rector of St. Paul’s Chattanooga, Saint Michael and All Angels Sanibel Island, and St. Paul’s downtown Augusta, GA. He helped manage an $11 million endowment in Chattanooga and launched endowment trusts in Sanibel and Augusta. Donald was a leader in an extraordinarily fruitful campaign for annual giving, capital giving and planned giving at St. John’s Church Tallahassee. He is active leadership in the Episcopal Church in Coastal SC and is on staff at Holy Cross Faith Memorial Church, Pawleys Island. He is trained in Gallup Consulting Faith Practice methodologies, Interim Ministries, and in the Clergy Leadership Institute’s Appreciative Way, as well as Living Compass ministries.

He is skilled in helping congregational leadership move through change and stress into new and more healthy and powerful ministries. He has served on the Board of Regents of The University of the South where he chaired the College Committee, and he has preached on www.Day1.org  Donald holds a D.Min. in Congregational Development from Sewanee and is a mentor in Virginia Theological Seminary’s Second Three Years Program as well as in the $70 million Lilly-funded Thriving in Ministry initiative. He meets frequently with networks of consultants as well as rectors and deans of leading parishes, cathedrals and seminary deans.
